From the time I called for an appointment, and throughout the appointment, the front desk personnel were very friendly and helpful. Can’t say enough good things about Dr. Nelson and his team. I moved here from another state, already in braces, and looking to continue treatment. I... visited Dr. Nelson’s office and he took the time to really examine me. It turned out I had a major jaw issue (which was known but didn’t know why amd was always told braces will fix it) and Dr. Nelson realized braces are not going to be able to fix me and we need to consider jaw surgery. He wanted to make sure I sought second opinions (which is always good to do!) so he sent me to UNC Chapel Hill to be examined by a board of people. Turned out that jaw surgery was a must if I ever wanted my problem fixed. We received answers we never had about why my jaw was the way it was. A year later I received jaw surgery. Dr. Nelson and his team walked me through the journey of prepping me for surgery, sent me flowers during recovery, was so excited to see me afterwards and make sure all was going well, and now they are walking me to the end of this journey. We will still have a little more braces work to do to finish lining my teeth up just right now that my jaw is aligned but I can see the light at the end of the tunnel! I received braces when I was younger, and then a second time when I was older and my jaw never got fixed. Going to Dr. Nelson was the biggest blessing because he stepped back and said wait a minute, before we continue down the path of braces let’s actually understand the issue. Dr. Nelson goes beyond just braces, he really cares and understands. His staff are so kind and loving, truly the best orthodontist office I have been to and that is speaking from experience!read more
